About Strong Taekwon-Do
Strong Taekwon-Do: Empowering Individuals Through Martial Arts
Strong Taekwon-Do is a dynamic and empowering martial art school that blends physical fitness with mental discipline, focusing on self-improvement, respect, and strength. Practicing Taekwon-Do helps individuals develop confidence, resilience, and a sense of discipline that extends beyond the dojang (training hall).
Taekwon-Do and its origins

Taekwon-Do was founded by General Choi Hong Hi in the 1950s, following his vision to create a modern martial art that combined the traditional Korean martial art. After years of refining techniques and philosophy, General Choi officially named the martial art "Taekwon-Do" in 1955, which translates to "the way of the foot and fist." General Choi sought to develop a system that emphasized not only self-defense and physical skill, but also mental discipline, respect, and moral integrity. In 1966, General Choi established the International Taekwon-Do Federation (ITF) to promote the art worldwide. Under his leadership, Taekwon-Do spread rapidly, becoming an internationally recognized martial art practiced by millions, with a legacy centered on personal growth, strength, and global unity.
